Feburary 1997... Director's Notes
Logo I have seen a way to help liberate minds and free others from the sexual stigmas of our society.  That vision is now The Sex Art Gallery.  Though many have fought the socio-sexual revolution before me, I am proud to be among the leaders of our community.  With more support than expected, The Sex Art Gallery has taken profound steps to vanquish the prejudices of our sexually repressed society.
What is more inherent than sexuality?  What other force permeates through every culture across time?  To be human is to be sexual, no matter the preference.  I have seen the social acceptance of intellectual pieces far out-weigh that of sexually expressive works.  Even when the latter is of a higher quality, people are often afraid to acknowledge the interest and enjoyment they receive from this type of art.
As an artist, I find this confining.  As a business operator, I have the ability to create change.  The balance between them is a place called The Sex Art Gallery.  See the struggles, see the issues, see the victory as artists unite to expose the truth of sexual taboos and dogma. Sex is in all of us.  The time has come to admit it, understand it, celebrate it.
Experience the freedom of sexual expression. The gallery is loaded with art in all forms - paintings, pictures, sculptures, jewelry, videotape and more...  You can often find me performing as "Muse" in the gallery annex, where I and other talented  artists collaborate to create exciting ventures into the realm of Sexual Art.  A schedule is posted in the studio, though our times are often subject to change with the spirit of things.  (True art is best not rushed.)  Thomasina Kundalini
The shows vary from poetry readings to exotic dancing, fashion shoots to live music.  Past events can be viewed in the showroom, or over the internet at www.sexworld.com.  It is my hope that the virtual version will open greater horizons for all across the world.
Until then, the Sex Art Gallery is here in Minneapolis now!  Don't miss it.
