Let Me be Your Monkey Head  01.07.01

Let me be your monkey head
let me do it right
you know that i can keep you warm
and settled through the night.

You know i want to lift you up
when you're down inside
and open up to shelter you
when you want to hide.

Let me be your monkey head
let me make it REAL
there's so much left we haven't done
and so much more i feel.

To think i could have passed you by
makes my stomach turn.
I pray you listen to my words
cuz i'm telling you - i've learned.

The love you give is what i need
i do not need the words.
I'm sorry that i let it go
to know what it was worth

but the thought of me without you, chris
just doesn't sit with me.
You have become my closest friend
and what a shame it'd be -

if i couldn't be your monkey head
if i couldn't brush your hair
if i couldn't kiss your face at night
or tell you how i care.

So let me be your monkey head
there'll be a happy end.
I'll show you what it's really like
with me as your girlfriend.

i will bring you flowers
i will make it right
i will give you letters
of hope and love and light
i will tell the world
how lucky i am
to have been chosen
by the most incredible man

which i didn't do before.
I didn't make it known
that i was the companion
to a lover all my own...

and how proud i'll be because it's you
the one that i now long for
and if i am your monkey head
you will not want for more!

I promise. please, say yes
