Cupid's Arrow  2/14/00

Ohe Cupid -
I heard the flit of your bow.
How far and fast
    your arrow does go!
Before i could stop
    To see where you were
Your aim had already
    broken the air.
How fast and furious
    the gash does bleed.
Ohe Cupid -
    Your arrow has wounded me!

Ohe Cupid -
Your shot went straight to my heart
     and precisely hit
like a well placed dart.
    Right on the MARK
and through my skin
    piercing my soul
as it ripped it's way in.

Ohe Cupid -
I'm bloody and bleeding now.
What i did to you, and how?
Did i ask you to shoot me?
Did i ask for this pain?
Did i set myself up to be shot in vain?

Ohe Cupid -
Please tell me what it's all about?
Will i die from infection if i pull this out?
I'm aching, i'm crying.
There's no one around
and i lost my sight when i hit the ground.

Ohe Cupid -
I'm blind now, can you see?
Take this thing out, it's killing me!
Could someone please help
and come to my aid?
Can't anyone see the mess he's made?

Ohe Cupid -
It's a merciless game that you play.
If i could, i would take your satchel away.
Now i must fix this wound all alone.
I think i would rather have broken a bone!
At least i would know i'd be well in 6 weeks.
The way i feel now, I'll be dead in a week.

With no one to love -
There's no body here!
This arrow just festers in vain, i fear.
Ohe Cupid, if only a lover were here...
he could kiss this pain away.
